MY TRAVEL adventures
As a child, I only traveled on the East Coast of the United States to visit family. My first international trip wasn’t until high school — we went to Europe for two weeks which changed my life. I knew I wanted to continue experiencing the thrill and excitement I felt when traveling. For this reason, I studied abroad in Madrid, Spain during my undergraduate career.
MY NATURAL HAIR adventures
Although I had the best experience studying abroad, I wasn’t properly caring for my hair. Before leaving, I began transitioning from relaxed to natural hair and didn’t know how to manage it in another country.
I thought wearing Senegalese twists would help, but it didn’t for many reasons, including not having a solid hair routine. Once I came home, my hair was even more damaged.
Read my post on what I learned traveling with transitioning hair.
Curly Hair adventures WAS BORN
I’ve come a long way from understanding how to maintain my hair so it’s healthy. Since starting this journey, friends and family have asked how I’ve maintained healthy hair, especially while traveling.
Because of this, I decided to create this blog to document my travel experiences and natural hair journey. I hope to inspire Black women to travel AND travel while rockin’ their natural tresses — we can have it all!
