Why Visit the Philippines?

Breathtaking beaches and islands

[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]The Philippines has over 7,000 beautiful islands with white-sand beaches that are relatively untouched. Some of the most popular islands include Boracay, Palawan, Coron, and Siargao Island.[/vc_column_text]

Friendly locals

[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]Every Filipino I encountered was very welcoming and hospitable. Also, every Filipino I met spoke English, so it was easy to communicate.[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text css=”.vc_custom_1684330843901{background-color: #f9f9f9 !important;}”]

Budget-friendly

[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]The Philippines is a very affordable country, in fact, I never spent more than $20 on a good/service. For example, the most expensive massage I received (an hour and a half full body) was $18 USD. And the most expensive meal I ate was $12 USD.[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text css=”.vc_custom_1684330863846{background-color: #f9f9f9 !important;}”]

Delicious cuisine

[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]Filipino dishes have a blend of Spanish, Mexican, and even American influences due to colonization and trading. In fact, one of their popular dishes is adobo — meat, seafood, or vegetables marinated in vinegar, soy sauce, and more. Other traditional Filipino dishes include halo-halo (dessert), chicharron, lechon, lumpia, and sinigang.[/vc_column_text]

Getting Around Ninoy Aquino Airport

[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column]

[vc_column_text]The Manila airport is big and scattered, pair that with Manila traffic and it’s an entire day trip in itself. Since there’s no walkway, you’ll have to rely on the free shuttle or a taxi.

I opted for the free shuttle but didn’t realize how long the process would be to get from each terminal. My arriving and departing flight to South Korea came through Terminal 1 (it’s basically where all international flights operate). Whereas, my flight to and from El Nido (via Airswift) came through Terminal 4.

Terminal 1 is a couple of miles away from Terminal 4 and the shuttle loops around a busy street for Terminals 1-3. Then it finally goes towards Terminal 4. So my entire journey between terminals was roughly an hour and a half. With all that said, be sure that your connecting flights are between 3-4 hours apart.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_empty_space][vc_separator][vc_empty_space height=”15px”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row anchor=”covid”][vc_column][vc_column_text]
