With so many natural hair tools (and variations) available, it can be overwhelming to decide what’s worth buying and trying. I’ve tried many natural hair tools throughout the years β from brushes and combs to heated caps and scalp massagers. I wanted to share some of my favorite tools that have become crucial in my natural hair journey.
Mist Spray Bottle
I was gifted my first mist spray bottle through a partnership back in 2018 and never looked back. Unlike a regular spray bottle, this mist spray bottle doesn’t oversaturate your hair, which I love. Because it sprays like a Febreze flarisol, I’m able to regulate how damp/wet my hair gets.

Slip Silk Scrunchies
I’ve been using these Slip silk scrunchies since 2020. At this point, I refuse to use any scrunchie that isn’t silk material. I love not having to worry about damage or split ends when putting my hair in a ponytail or bun.
Looking for an alternative to Slip’s silk scrunchies? Check out MYK Silk, or PATTERN and RevAir for satin scrunchies.

Q-Redew Hair Steamer
This is the OG hair steamer for me, in fact, I’ve been using the Q-Redew steamer since 2018. Since it’s portable, it’s perfect for when I’m traveling domestically and need to refresh or wash, my hair. If you want a full review of the Q-Redew hair steamer, then my blog post here.

Red Pro Hair & Facial Steamer
A staple in my natural hair routine since 2019, there are so many benefits to steaming your hair. This includes reduction of itchy and flaky scalp, stronger elasticity, prevents breakage and split ends, and more. If you want a full review of the Red Pro Hair & Facial Steamer, read my blog post here.

RevAir
I’ve only been using this tool for three months (as of December 2022) but can tell it’ll be a staple. The first and only Reverse-Air Dryer, RevAir is a game-changer when blowing out/stretching hair. It’s healthier for your hair because it uses less heat than traditional blow dryers. Check out my IG Reel.

Brush With The Best
I could probably live without any of the other tools listed, except for this brush. Seriously, I’ve been using my Brush with the Best detangling brush every wash day since 2019. This detangling brush does an amazing job of getting rid of tangles and knots without excessive shedding. Did I mention the creator behind Brush with the Best, Felicia Leatherwood, is a Black woman who’s a celebrity stylist? She’s been a hairstylist for Ava Duvernay, Jill Scott, Issa Rae, and more, so Felicia knows what she’s talking about.

Unlike other fabrics, microfiber towels are gentler on hair, reduce frizz, and cause less breakage. Microfiber towels do all of these things without drying out the hair, it’s an absolute must-have for wash day.
